A woman ordered a muffin and a lemonade for her kid. It came out to 7 something and she pulled out a $100 bill out of her purse to pay with. I told her that we don’t accept bills large than $50. Damn, why tf did I say that? She went on about how ridiculous it is for a large American corporation to not accept “legal American tender”. How this country is not the same anymore and how companies need to grow a pair.
I was like “I just work here lady and that’s the store rules”. She wants to speak with a manager. The actual manager wasn’t there and I’m the assistant manager, so I’m like “you’re speaking to him”. She then asks to speak to my district manager. I give her the DM’s contact and she whips out a $10 bill and pays. I feel like the drama was hella unnecessary
